Too often the content is overlooked in a website development project, which is like building a gorgeous store but stocking it with junk you picked up in a hurry just before opening. This is particularly odd when you realize that it’s the content of the site that visitors are coming for in the first place.

High quality written content will get your message across more clearly, be more persuasive and help people find what they’re looking for. Amateurish content will make your organization look amateurish, and runs the risk of confusing or turning away your audience.

A journalist by training, I’ve been writing professionally for the web since 1996, when I worked at one of Ireland’s first and most prominent web development firms. As well as my project management work, I wrote a weekly column on popular culture for the website which invited user interaction and comments. We would have called it a blog, but the term hadn’t been coined yet.

My professional features, arts, technology and photography journalism has appeared in The Irish Times, Salon, New Mexico Magazine, The Santa Fe Reporter and the print edition of JPG Magazine. I was also editor of a tech newsletter for Dublin internet consultants iQ Content for many years.

Services

I can convert your existing copy into material that works on the web, or we can write it for you from scratch. I focus on telling stories about you and your clients or supporters that get to the heart of what your organization does. Think of it as having your own journalist on call.
