David’s Biography
David Moore is a web consultant, journalist and photographer with nearly two decades of technology experience, including spells in the Silicon Valley and Dublin, Ireland.
He founded Moore Consulting LLC on moving to Santa Fe in 2003 – he’s married to a New Mexican resident of long standing.
Prior to that he worked in Dublin, Ireland for prominent web firm iQ Content, contributing to a wide variety of content and strategy projects for clients such as Deloitte and the central government Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. He also helped write two high profile reports on web strategy for multinational companies, and the performance of public sector e-Government sites. He was for many years the editor of iQ Content’s monthly newsletter. He’s also devised and delivered training on content strategy, writing for the web, and creating email newsletters.
Before joining iQ Content, David was Principal Research Editor for e-learning company Skillsoft, based in the Silicon Valley. He was also an early employee at Nua, a leading Irish internet company in the late 90s.
His award-winning arts and technology journalism has appeared in New Mexico Magazine, The Irish Times, The Illustrated London News, Salon and the Santa Fe Reporter. His book of travel writing, The Accidental Pilgrim, was published in 2004, and received very positive reviews. It recounts his 2000-mile bicycle journey from Ireland to Italy in pursuit of sixth-century Celtic monk, Saint Columbanus.
David has a double-first class degree in English, and Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic from Cambridge University, and an MPhil in Anglo-Irish Literature from Trinity College, Dublin. in 2007, he was an Adjunct Instructor in the Media Arts department at New Mexico Highlands University, where he taught a graduate level user-centered design course.
